Kilmainham Goal
Built in 1789 the jail has held generations of criminals and heroes of the Irish resistance against British rule. Robert Emmet and Charles Stewart Parnell did time in Kilmainham as did the leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising before they faced the firing squad. The last prisoner to pass thorugh the gates of Kilmianham was none other than Eamon de Valera himself, after his release in 1924 when Kilmainham Gaol was shut down. It now acts as a museum and memorial to all that ever spent time here. Visitors of the museum tend to shiver, not just because it tends to be cold in the prison. When looking at the chapel, you are for an instance reminded that Joseph Plunkett was married here, hours before he was executed.
The Irish House Party
Completely unique to Dublin and unlike any other traditional Irish music night, it is organised and hosted by true traditional Irish musicians and dancers in an intimate and homely setting. There are no stages, microphones or fake antiques hanging from the walls often found at the many 'Irish music nights' held around Dublin. This honestly has made the evening hugely popular with both Irish guests and guests from abroad. On arrival you are welcomed by your host for the evening that will both entertain and educate. You can take part as much as you like or simply sit back and enjoy the best Irish house Party in Dublin.
